Support Us

Our wildlife and wild places need our help to survive. Birds like the kakapo and kiwi have special breeding programmes to make sure their babies survive. Our forests have thousands of trees planted in them every year and introduced pests are controlled to create healthy habitats.

The Kiwi Conservation Club is part of Forest & Bird, a conservation charity that looks after animals and their habitats all over New Zealand. We have awesome volunteers that give us their time but to keep it money to keep our organisation running!

You can help us save wildlife like:
• Kakapo
• Kiwi
• Albatross
• Kokako

Or help us protect wild places like:
• Native Forests
• Marine Reserves
• High Country
• Wetlands
• Beaches

But how can I help raise money?

Choose an animal or wild place you really care about. You might choose to fundraise at school, in your local community or ask your friends, family or teachers to help you out.

You might like to:

• Use your musical skills and go busking
• Hold a mufti day or dress up day at your school
• Bake some bird shaped bikkies or cakes and sell them
• Sell some of your old toys or books – someone else will appreciate them!
• Collect your spare change– every time you find coins under the sofa, on the floor or in your pockets collect them in a jar.
• Do jobs for your grandparents, parents, aunties and uncles in exchange for a donation.
• Feeling crafty? Make jewellery, cushions, cards – whatever you like! Sell them at the school fair, friends and family.
• Sponsored silence. Try going a day (or more!) without talking. Get your family to sponsor you for each hour that you last.

There are heaps of things you can do!

If you have any other good ideas or have been doing some fundraising let us know to by sending us a story or photos to kcc@forestandbird.org.nz or to KCC, PO Box 631, Wellington 6140.

What do I do once I have finished fundraising?

Remember every little bit helps from $5 to $100! Once you have finished fundraising get your parents or teachers to help you donate it online at http://www.forestandbird.org.nz/support-us or send it with a note and your contact details to Forest & Bird, PO Box 631, Wellington 6140
