Forest & Bird has invited us to Roydon Downs, a farm with easy walking tracks set in re-established native bush. The owner, Gill Brann, will meet us and talk about the conservation project she and her husband Geoff have been engaged in for the last 25 years. We will join her for a walk along the beautiful Oeuteheuheu Stream, through the forest, up to the meadows for a picnic lunch.
Location Meet us at the Woolshed on Roydon Downs, 814 Allport Rd, approx 45km from Rotorua. Follow SH33 towards Paengaroa. Six km before Paengaroa, turn right onto Allport Rd. After the gravel section there is a sign for Roydon Downs on the right. Drive through the gate and follow signs to the parking behind the wooshed.
