How many sanctuaries does NZ have?

Back the late 1800s a man named Richard Henry smuggled 700 kiwi and kakapo onto Resolution island, in Fiordland so they had a safe place to call home that was predator-free.

Since then many island sanctuaries, mainland sanctuaries and marine sanctuaries have been created to protect our native plants and animals. Guess how many we have in total!
