in charge of departments and ministries.

environment if you are concerned about New Zealand conservation

Department of Conservation

DoC is the key conservation agency in New Zealand. DoC manages:
National parks, scenic reserves, conservation areas and protected
ecological areas. Native wildlife, non-commercial freshwater fisheries,
historic places on conservation land, marine reserves, marine mammals
and offshore islands set aside for conservation.
Ministry of Agriculture and

MAF is responsible for the sustainable development of the agriculture
and forestry industries in New Zealand. MAF's programmes aim to
protect New Zealand's agriculture and forestry by monitoring and
protecting its animals, plants, forests and sea life against the
introduction of exotic pests and diseases.

MfE is responsible for the following areas: resource management;
land, air and water quality; waste, hazardous substances and contaminated
sites; protection of the ozone layer and global warming.
Ministry of Fisheries

The Ministry of Fisheries is responsible for the management of New
Zealand's fisheries. The Ministry of Fisheries advises Government
on the development of fisheries policies, develops laws to manage
fisheries, administers the Quota Management System that regulates
New Zealand's commercial fishing activity, and gives effect to the
principles of the Treaty of Waitangi as they relate to fisheries.
