All about the Kiwi Conservation Club

The Kiwi Conservation Club (KCC)
is a Royal Forest and Bird Protection Society project for children. It began in 1988 and is cool for kids. Over 17,000 children receive the Kiwi Conservation Club magazine, including around 1000 schools that receive the magazine.

The Royal Forest and Bird Protection Society of New Zealand is often known as 'Forest and Bird'. It is New Zealand's largest conservation organisation. For more information visit  www.forestandbird.org.nz

The Kiwi Conservation Club magazine is delivered to members five times a year. It features articles about the natural world of New Zealand in lively notes, stories, cartoons and puzzles. Members contributions are welcomed and there are competitions too! The magazine is also great for school projects. For a list of past magazines - Click here

In some areas there are also local club activities. Club trips explore and learn about New Zealand's wildlife, the native forests, the sea shore and other special places. Find out about activities in your area

KCC Coordinators are volunteer mums, dads, friends and Forest and Bird members. They commit their time to organise KCC activities.
Learn more about being a coordinator

If you are interested in helping to organise an event (or events) in your area please contact your local KCC coordinator or Forest and Bird.

The KCC website has been developed for members of the Kiwi Conservation Club and all other children who would like to learn more about New Zealand's wildlife and wild places, and how to care for and protect the natural world.

If you are visiting this site from outside New Zealand we extend a big welcome to you.

Remember... that while the KCC website is focusing on New Zealand issues mother earth does not recognise country boundaries like people do - our planet is one living system and we must care for her wherever we live.

We hope the KCC website will encourage everyone to appreciate nature and our place in it.

KCC website artwork is pretty special. Some of the artwork on this website has been drawn and painted by KCC members - and as you can see there are some fantastic artists amongst our members!
